Brain Droppings...
Sure, I stole this title from George Carlin. And sure, thanks to today's holiday, the weekend isn't technically over, but here are some things I observed. Bear in mind, that I was at the UGA/Clemson game so was unable to watch a lot of the other games.
1) It could be a long week for UGA's offensive line. - The Dawgs open up a five point favorite over South Carolina this week after a bitter defeat to Clemson on the road. Is anyone else surprised by this? UGA's offensive line did not look very good against the Tigers and they face a must sterner test with Clowney and Company rolling in on Saturday. I know a lot of people knocked Clowney after his "subpar" performance on Thursday night. You think he might be out to prove people wrong? I do and that could spell disaster for the Dawgs.
2) New Coach. No Problem. - Sure, they weren't all as pretty as Kliff Kingsbury, but Texas Tech, Auburn, and Wisconsin got wins over teams a lot of the experts thought may give them trouble. That doesn't mean that the rest of the season will go as smoothly but it was certainly a good start.
3) Teddy Bridgewater is my Heisman frontrunner. - This is way too early to speculate on, but everyone else does, so I will too. Their schedule is so soft that he should be able to put up ridiculous statistics. Of course, the same can be said of Braxton Miller, but I just think that Bridgewater is better. Sure, that was Ohio but 23-28 for 355 and 5 TDs will get people's attention, especially if it becomes an every week occurrence.
4) Johnny Manziel is be the next Tim Tebow for Talking Heads - They are nothing alike. But there are few guys that split people's opinion of him, like Tim Tebow. Despite having a loyal following, Tim Tebow just isn't that good in the NFL and fans outside of the University of Florida continue to hate him despite his holy ways. Johnny Football is undoubtedly a spectacular college player. Hower, his antics have turned many against him. Sure, there will be A&M fans that think he is the 2nd coming and others who see him as a sympathetic figure thanks to his dealings with the NCAA but he's not making himself any friends outside of that with his antics. I'm sure he was just telling that Rice player that no one would ever want his autograph, but with all eyes on you, you can't do that stuff.
5) Finally, despite the fact that both "me and and my Daddy" love the Dawgs, this call to 92.9 The Game's post-game show is not me or anyone I know...
