6. Bobby Bowden
Bobby Bowden holds the NCAA record for most career and bowl wins by a Division I FBS coach, with 377 wins total.* Further, Bobby Bowden has directly mentored notable names, such as Mark Richt (Georgia) and Jimbo Fisher (Florida State). But, perhaps most impressive is Bowden's longevity at Florida State and ability to turn around a program that wasn't previously relevant.
At Florida State, Bowden led the Noles to 12 ACC titles, 2 National Championships and multiple appearances, notably in the 1990s. From 1992-2000, Florida State made a major (Orange, Sugar, Fiesta) bowl every year, a remarkable feat. Further, Bowden coached 2 Heisman Trophy winners in Charlie Ward and Chris Weinke. Even though Bowden tapered toward the end of his career, he is undoubtedly and elite coach.

*Joe Paterno technically has the most but due to sanctions against Penn State, his wins are murky.
